Top 100 lists are hard to do

For me I wanted to make an extensive list of my top 100 games. This I accomplished last year and began to blog it out. Unfortunately for me  what I didn't take into account is how much my list would me altered in a mere months time. You see when you play so many new games on a regular basis you list is going to change immensely. So what I have decided to do is instead of making a top 100 ranking, I am going to just rate all the games I have listed individually by score. And then I am going to continue to rate new games as I finish the list I had established. Thus giving more free reign on reviews and also allowing me to bring fresh content to my video game blog. I plan to start using my youtube channel more and bring some reviews that ya'll can watch and enjoy.

#99 Dragon Ball Z Legend of The Super Saiyan

Dragon Ball Z Legend of The Super Saiyan"Super Saiya Densetsu"
Japan only
Console: Super Famicom
Release Date: 1992

I will start by saying I am a huge Dragon ball fan, in my opinion this game is very enjoyable. the game is a role playing game that uses cards for battling. You play as Goku and his friends as they battle all the way through the Frieza saga. The game is very Japanese and can be a little hard to understand at times. The only way I have been able to play it over the years was because of translated roms. Then last Christmas I got the Reproduction cart, and it is cool  to have the game on actual physical cartridge "thanks sis". This game is on my list because it is my favorite Dragon Ball game and I am a huge fan.

Game Play:6/10

The reason I chose to rate the game play so low, is that it takes some time to get used to the card attack and defense ratings. Each turn you have 5 cards in your hand, and you choose one for each character in your party. There are three types of cards Physical,Ki, and favorite.  each card has an attack and defense rating which affect the outcome of each round. The attack ranges from a one star ball rating being the weakest to a Z rating being the strongest. The Defense rating uses lines ranging from one to eight. Each character picks a card and then battle starts. Ki cards are my favorite because you get to use the special attacks from the show/Manga.It is a traditional old school RPG, in the sense of random encounters and grinding. While I think this game is awesome I can see it being confusing, but if you give it a shot it really is fun.

Graphics:7/10

One of the best things about this game is being able to see Dragon ball in Snes graphics. From the Kamehameha wave to the Special Beam cannon, each character has his own special attacks. the cuts of animation from physical attacks are just as fun to watch. I just love the way this game looks it has a great style to it

Music: 5/10

The worst thing in this game is the music. The music is okay I don't mind it,but with all the battles you fight the battle music rarely changes. The sound effect are pretty cool and it is not horrible. Still I wish they had put a few more tracks on this game

Replay:6/10

With the strategy in this game I have played it multiple times to get all the different results. There are 3 different endings that I know of, and you can change the story slightly. One of my favorite things is you can have Tien, Yamcha, and chiaotzu alive on Namek. The first time I played it Goku went Super Saiyan after Frieza killed Yamcha. Which the prompt me to see all the different ways I could effect the story. For a fan of the series there is a lot to explore and replay

Nostalgia : 8/10

I grew up watching Dragon ball and playing snes games. I first saw this game on a long since gone website that I can't even remember the name of"I have tried lol" . I love Akia Toriama, and getting to play a game based on his work on one of my favorite consoles is super sweet. I first played this game about ten years ago, and it has stuck with me through all of them.Playing it again just remind me of a time when Dragon Ball was king, and when I was just a wee lad in high school.

Story:7/10

The story of this game goes from the Sayian saga all the way to fight with Frieza. No surprises here if you like the Dragon Ball story this game follows it pretty closely. You can change some things like letting Vegeta beat Frieza, which is cool to do.  The beginning of Dragon Ball Z is my favorite part, and getting to play a RPG game of it is pretty awesome.

Bonus: 6/10

This game gets 6 bonus points, because I love RPG's and I love Dragon Ball

Over all Rating:  45/70

When all is said and done this game is quite enjoyable. it brings a unique and interesting battle system with a well liked brand. The Saiyan in me wants to rate this game higher but there are many other games deserving to be on my list. This game holds a special place in my heart and it continues to grow
